I would like to start off by giving a big thank you to our friend and neighbor,David. Thank you so much for letting me use your beautiful horse, Annie.  Lessons would not be possible without this beautiful horse. Annie is absolutely wonderful with children. She seems to like them even more at the end of the lesson, when she gets treats, such as carrots and apple slices. Treats are actually a very positive way to bond with the horse. It gives the student time to form a friendship with the horse, the same way you do when you groom the horse. Annie is truly a special horse and continues to find her way in many hearts.

Again, I can't say thank you enough. Y'all are so wonderful and it's such a blessing to work with such an amazing horse. Sincerely, Thank you so much.

Cowboy Up

I would like to share how wonderful God is. I have a young student that took his first fall this past Saturday. To give you a little background on this student, he has sensory issues, has bursts of energy, and like any human being, tends to not pay attention at times. I had planned to do a fun exercise of rounding up loose 'cows'.(Paper cutouts placed randomly around riding area) The student was using a hula hoop to round up the loose cows. This is a good exercise to get his focus, help with his balance, and coordiantion. Well, it was rather windy that day. A gust of wind lifted one of the 'cows' off of the barrel it was taped too. The horse moved suddenly to the left and the student fell to the ground. Naturally, this startled the student. I helped him up and asked if he was ok. I worked with the horse in the spot where this all occured, while the student's parents tended to him. My husband assisted me and took the horse to the center of the riding area. I asked the student if he wanted to play catch next to the horse. I did this so he could build up his confidence and focus on another task. After doing this exercise, I asked the student if he was ready to ride again. The student said yes! I was so relieved that this young boy cowboyed up! He ended this lesson on such a postive note. He had a smile of accomplishment and expressed it with a sigh of relief. I was thrilled to see that the Lord took this event and good came out of it, and God kept this little boy safe! It shows you that matter how prepared we are and have things planned out, everything takes it's own course. It's up to you to handle it the best way possible and see light in every situation!
