Horses really do heal

Here is a story of one of my students named Dylan. Dylan's mother shared this event with me. The story show's how the young boy's confidence has grown since he's been participating in horseback riding.

........."I just had to share this because it's so awesome. Last night we took Dylan to the fair on base and he was able to ride all the rides without any meltdowns. He even rode the carousel TWICE which the past two times we've tried him on it... It was too overwhelming for him. He had meltdowns and wanted off as soon as it started moving. It was awesome to see how far he's come with his sensory issues and be able to enjoy himself. He even ask to go on rides! Definitely got teary eyed last night lol.".......

Since Dylan has been participating in lessons, I organize all kinds of games incorporating stretching, that is out of his comfort zone, ground exercises, such as him leading Annie the horse, and other games to work on sensory issues. I enjoy seeing his progress and the fact that other people, including his family recognize his improvement's, its truly rewarding!
